Offshore License

The offshore license allows you to sail more than 6 nautical miles from shelter. It is the ultimate passion license because it already has you navigating on the chart. We will prepare you to succeed in the exam, but first of all, you must hold the coastal license.

Chart presentation and reading
Bearings and plotting rules
Heading, wind drift, and surface course
Current and bottom track
Tidal currents
Deviation curve
Tide calculation
Meteorology
Safety
Electronic navigation aids

Additionally, plan for approximately €90 of supplies (manuals, Cras rule, dry compass, chart 9999, etc.). These supplies can be purchased at the Boat School.

Attention! The 9999 chart, considered an exam copy, will be retained by the Maritime Authorities at the end of the test.

Registration

Your Offshore License registration file must include:

2 copies of the training contract
Application for the “Offshore Extension” exam
The original of your coastal license
1 recent passport-style color photo
€38 in electronic tax stamps
1 photocopy of the front of your ID card or passport
Payment for the training (check payable to Philippe Bouillon)
